Steadiness: Your Greatest Asset in Turbulent Times

Steadiness: Your Greatest Asset in Turbulent Times

Chapter 26 of the Tao Te Ching: “Gravity is the root of lightness. Stillness is the master of restlessness. Therefore the sage travels all day without leaving heavy baggage. Though there may be magnificent sights, he remains serene and unattached. How should a lord of ten thousand chariots treat the world lightly? To be light is to lose the root. To be restless is to lose mastery.”

This is the wisdom most needed in our turbulent age.

Markets change, policies change, environments change, people change. Everyone panics, everyone hurries. But Lao Tzu tells you: the more turbulent the times, the more steadfast you must be; the more restless the world, the calmer you must remain.

“Gravity is the root of lightness” means never placing your center outside yourself. Dont place happiness in others approval, dont place security in money, dont place your future in trends.

Your root is always within you. Your abilities, your character, your wisdom, your mindset. No one can take these, no change can shake these.

With this root, strong winds cannot topple you, high waves cannot capsize you. This is your greatest asset facing turbulence.

Let winds blow and waves surge—remain calm as if strolling in a courtyard.
